"Verily, there has come unto you a Messenger from amongst yourselves. It grieves him that you should receive any  difficulty. He is anxious over you, for the believers full of compassion, kindness, and mercy." [At-Tawbah:128]

UCLU Isoc cordially invites you on a journey through the life of the greatest man that ever lived. Join us as we delve into aspects of his character that make him deserving of such praise, through life in Makkah to to his final moments in Madinah, and share in his times of joy, unease and sorrow;

Muhammad (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

This unique series hopes to bring to you the exemplary life of the most beloved of Allah (swt), and to be a means for us to benefit and derive lessons from, whereby we can also aspire to such human characteristics.

The Prophet (pbuh) once said: ''None of you truly believe until I am dearer to him than his own father, his child, and all of mankind''.

The Green Prophet
"And We have not sent you except as a mercy to the worlds"
(Surah Al-Anbiyah 21:107)
 
 As part of the way of life for all mankind, who have been placed as viceroys on the earth, the Prophet (pbuh) placed great emphasis on looking after the environment, conserving water and even animal rights. Join us to find out more about this green world religion, as part of UCLU’s Green Week.

The Beloved around his Nobles
Say, (O Muhammad, to mankind): If ye love Allah, follow me; Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. Allah is Forgiving, Merciful,’ (Surah Ale Imran, 3:31).
 
 What was it about this great man that earned him the respect and love of all those who knew him? In this class we examine the unbreakable bonds of brotherhood between the Prophet (pbuh) and his followers, and discover why he was worthy of such love. We will also be given practical ways in which we can increase in our love for him (pbuh) in our lives today.

Bearer of Glad Tidings
‘And give glad tidings (O Muhammad) unto those who believe and do good works; that theirs are Gardens underneath which rivers flow;’ (Surah Al Baqarah, 2:25)
 
He (pbuh) brought an invitation to the ultimate call; for mankind, news of the paradise that awaits those who take heed. In 23 years he achieved what others wouldn’t in 100, undergoing many hardships and trials in spreading God’s final message to mankind. Discover with us not only the significance of this responsibility but also the ways in which the revelation was disseminated.

A Man of Justice
‘O ye who believe! stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah, even as against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, and whether it be (against) rich or poor: for Allah can best protect both. Follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest ye swerve, and if ye distort (justice) or decline to do justice, verily Allah is well-acquainted with all that ye do’. (Surah An Nisa, 4:135)
 
His (pbuh)  justice extended to all, regardless of social status, religion, family ties, or friendship. Under his leadership and that of his successors, justice prevailed and the people were given their due rights. Learn about the ways of a true leader who served his people with justice and compassion.

The Real Man in the Home
'The best of you is one who is best towards his family. As for me, I am best amongst you towards my family’. [Ibn Majah])
 
 In this class we will study the concept of family life as an institution in Islam and how this is exemplified by the Prophet (pbuh) in his dealings with his own family. Learn about him as a husband, a father, a relative….learn about who he was behind closed doors…

His Last Sermon and Moments
‘Verily in the messenger of Allah ye have a good example’ (Surah Al Ahzab, 33:21)
 
Lessons we can take from his (pbuh) farewell sermon in Arafah will be elaborated upon in this class; his advice and dictates to his ummah. We will also go through his final days and what transpired after his death. The series will end upon how we can practically achieve loving him (pbuh) more than oursleves and our own families.
